Questions
When does a guest get charged?
Not at submission. Their card is authorised (held) but not charged. The charge happens when you mark the request as done and either the guest confirms it, or 30 minutes pass with no response (whichever comes first). If you decline or never play the request, nothing is taken from their card. The hold typically disappears from their bank within 1-7 days.
When do I receive my earnings?
Guests' payments go to your own Stripe account, and Stripe pays your earnings to your bank once they've been held for 7 days while you're new, which covers card clearing and disputes. Once you've been hosting for 30 days with a clean record, that drops to 3 days automatically. Before going live, you set up payouts with Stripe, who verify your identity and take your bank details; OnCuePay never sees or stores them.
How does the fee work?
You set the price guests pay. OnCuePay keeps 15% and card costs come out of the request price. No monthly fee, no setup fee. Guests pay exactly the price you set, with nothing added at checkout. If a guest pays $5.00 for a song request, card costs are $0.47, OnCuePay keeps $0.75 and you receive $3.78. You only pay when you earn.
What if a guest claims their request was not done?
Guests have 30 minutes after you mark a request done to confirm or report an issue. If they don't respond, payment is captured automatically. If they do raise an issue, you then have 30 minutes to respond with your side. If you don't respond in that window, the payment is cancelled and they pay nothing. If you contest it, our team reviews and resolves it.
Do guests need to download anything?
No. Guests scan your QR code with their phone camera and the page opens in their browser. No account, no app, no sign-up. They just enter their request and pay.
Can I run multiple events?
You can create unlimited events but only one can be live (accepting requests) at a time. You can duplicate a previous event in one tap so you don't have to set it up again. Past events and their earnings are always accessible in your dashboard.
What payment methods do guests have?
All major debit and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), Apple Pay, and Google Pay where supported. Payments are processed securely by Stripe.
Is there a minimum payout?
No. Stripe pays out everything that has passed the hold, and you can see upcoming payouts on your Earnings page or in your Stripe dashboard.
